I had one from Wal Mart that I got years ago, and could never find them again for the price. Now I've got the page bookmarked.... LOL!!!

| Wow. Those are nice. I have some aluminum sided cases that I pay 30 bucks each for that I get from Harbor Freight. The only advantage I can see to mine is that the foam is cubed, or pick-and-pluck. I like the size of these though, and I think I can get some cubed foam to fit them and still come out cheaper. | |

| Let me know about the foam if you don't mind. After working with mine, being able to readjust my gear inside and rearrange the foam is really handy. I'd surely have had to replace my foam at least 10 times by now if I was cutting into it. | |

| well we got ours today, I would highly recommend these to anyone !
The case is made by Plano , very sturdy and comes with three layers of foam.
(one pieces) pick and puck cube type foam. (two pieces)egg crate type foam.
You have a choice on how you want to do it, whether it be to cut in your equipment for a tight fight, or pluck out the are as needed for it to fit.
They are a little smaller than what I expected but I am very satisfied with this product, especially for the price! These are a lot better than our old cases (that got stolen) :'(
$13 plus shipping, got it in six days and it came with brochures from that store that have items that we can you in this field as well, such as Ir game still game cameras for cheap that display moon phase, temp, etc. I also saw a 109 led flashlight that could be used for an IR extender.
I will post picks soon if anyone wants a complete breakdown of the case. Thanks again John for this link, it has been a big help and I hope in time we can fill them back up again with equipment.

| James if you can, get a picture up with your equipment in it. Curious to see how your stuff looks in them. | |

| well there is not much to show, we only have a couple of things now because of the guy that wanted it more than we did The thing that you don't want to do is over stuff any case, with our old cases they got so full that the foam was busting out and they fell apart. It is better to have more cases that aren't so full so that foam will last, that's just my opinion. Oh and don't use a permanent marker like i did, but make sure with you cut or pluck the foam a little tighter than the equipment that is going to sit in there. It is a little embarrassing but I know in time we are going to get back to what we had though. Here's some pictures but I have to honestly say it is embarrassing to me because it aint much, and now we look like a bunch of rookies [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] | |

| I sent it to your myspace I guess you dont check that often either lol.
making full spectrum cameras, did you take out the ir cut filter out? Can only certain cameras be transferred to full spectrum? I need to know how ya did it, i have a good idea but i have heard you can ruin a camera if ya dont know what you are doing.
Also do you have high definition camcorders? I have not tryed my IR extenders on high definition camcorders yet, they work great on mine and bet they would do very well with the hd camcorders.
The insides of my extenders are closed up pretty good, when i get a chance i will send a picture or a diagram.

| Matt i wired them up in series, negative to positive with a 33 ohm resistor.
I used such a low resistor because i would rather have them bright for four hours the slowly getting dimmer four hours later, then slightly dim the whole time and have the battery last twelve hours.
I wanted the most out of the leds without shorting them out. If this don't help i will draw a diagram for you.
pro's and cons of my extenders:
cons: One extender takes two 9volt batteries that can make it expensive and a little heavy. Changing the batteries is a pain because you have to unscrew four screws.
pro's: Extremely bright and have a wide spread like a flood light, not a spot beam. Have two switches per extender so you can choose how bright you want the room etc.
I made the adapters that hold the extenders out of aluminum c-channel to make it lighter. The adapter is a great place to put other equipment on as well as a good grip for your other hand.

| [img] [/img] depending on what leds you use * Wavelength : * Vf: * Vr: * If: * Ipusle: * Power Dissipation: * Tjun: * Tsol: * MCD= * Angle: will determine what resistor you should use so that you don't suck the battery/s dry. Hope this helps sir, please answer my question on the full spectrum cameras rather it be a still or camcorder when ya get a chance. Here is a helpfull website i like that has a resistor calculator for the lazy if you don't feel like doing the math like me http://www.horrorseek.com/home/halloween/wolfstone/Lighting/litlpo_PoweringLEDs.html#WiringMultipleLEDsInSeries | |
